Help MSEUM Make HERstory!
MSeum is honored to announce that our non-profit fiscal sponsor is a
mission-aligned organization we’ve admired since its earliest
beginnings:
Darwin Animal Doctors, which has remained committed to bringing veterinary care to the
animals of the Galápagos Islands for the past 15 years and counting.
Our generous donors may rest assured that their donation will be
safely received by DAD, and marked as funds restricted for MSeum.
How are these two orgs linked, you may ask? As a feminist
organization, MSeum prioritizes females of all species, and we aim to
raise national and global awareness of the link between feminism, the
rights of animals, and environmental protection. Believing it’s
impossible to be a feminist without rejecting meat and dairy, and the
suffering those cruel industries inflict on our animal sisters, MSeum
will celebrate creative, plant-based chefs as Culinary Artists, and
serve strictly vegan refreshments at all openings and fundraising
events.
One of MSeum’s core initiatives is a public art project to honor all
our sisters who have lost children: The Vilomah Chapel, a
non-denominational sacred space, situated outdoors, created by a woman
landscape architect. Our Chapel will encourage visitors to spend quiet
time in the embrace of Mother Nature, contemplating a compelling
bronze monument created by a woman sculptor. Such a tribute has thus
far never been offered, anywhere in the world. MSeum’s Vilomah Chapel
will harness the power of art to highlight the universality of
maternal grief: preliminary proposed statuary subjects include a dairy
cow and an orca matriarch breaching the water’s surface.
Charles Darwin himself was a proud father of daughters, notably his
beloved first child Anne, who died at age 10 (subject of the biography
“Annie’s Box” and its film adaptation, “Creation”). We believe that
the concept of MSeum’s Vilomah Chapel would speak profoundly to Mr.
Darwin’s heart — and its realization will provide a much-needed place
of peace and spiritual recharge to all who visit. Please donate today,
to help make the Vilomah Chapel a reality!
